The Story
The year is 2025.tw0 16-year-olds have grown up in a country cleared of all life by chemical devastation: dexter in an underground community which has existed for over half a century- diana with her mother and crippled father on a small farm by a lake. When diana and dexter meet they fear and suspect each other. Even when dexter leaves his strange life underground and comes to live for a time with the family by the lake their mutual distrust continues, as they realise they each have been told different versions of history. All the time there is the counsellor, the man who controls the underground people, and who threatens to destroy the fragile existence of the farm by the lake. And all the time there is the mysterious lake itself, the lake which has given diana's family its new legends. NOT UK/OM
